The blanket license agreement between GEMA (the German society for musical performing and mechanical reproduction rights) and youtube for the use of music in videos uploaded to the service expired March 31 2009.
youtube isn’t willing to grant composers a just and individual billing (and payment) for the use of their works, and rather decided to gradually make videos containing music unavailable for German users – a step they had already taken a few days ago in the UK.
This is why some of the videos may not work anymore on musicwise – sorry for the inconvenience.
