The Founder

While working for companies such as MTV, successful Urban label 3p or Sony Music, musicwise founder Patrick Jöst acquired a profound knowledge of marketing, music and media. During his tenure (from 2002 until 2008) at Sony/ATV Music Publishing, one of the biggest music publishers of the world, he set up and headed the Song Marketing & Synch Licensing department.

The Concept

The knowledge that music has a strong emotional power is prevalent today. Yet finding a suitable and actually clearable music that ideally improves a project and makes it more successful can be complex.

musicwise simplifies music research and rights clearance:

1. musicwise only actively offers and pitches music which is basically available for licensing.

Reliability and seriousness are the foundation of doing business. And we are very much aware of the importance that time and tight deadlines can have when it comes to licensing music. That’s why we won’t promise you the pie in the sky, but great and suitable, yet realistic solutions.

2. musicwise offers support in all music-related matters.

We’re not only here to help when it comes to actually licensing music, but also to assist you with other issues concerning music usage, GEMA and other collecting societies, online matters etc.*

3. musicwise doesn’t know everything. But in most cases we know whom to ask the right question.

Our network of friends and experts is broad and sound. If necessary, we will always be happy to refer you to or ask the specialists we work with.
